DISC Behavioural Profiling – Identifying Behaviours & Tensions

What is DISC?

Connected TeamDISC Personality Profiling is a psychometric assessment that explains personality and behavioural styles & preferences.  DISC shows primary and secondary styles as the interaction between four factors, D, I, S & C and in a way that creates an effective vehicle for communication.

DISC Personality profiling is only part of personality profiling and there is no good or bad profile result, so the profile should be seen as a part of the total picture.  DISC tells us about our motivational style, how we communicate with ourselves and others, how and where we prefer to work and how we achieve goals.

Importantly DISC defines how a person is perceived, how they perceive themselves and how the person reacts under stress.

DISC is a significantly validated personality assessment and as with most current psychometric assessments, origianate from the work of the analytical psychologist Carl Gustav Jung and his work on ‘Psychological Types’.

Where is DISC used?

DISC can be used at work, for individual, team and organisational assessment.  DISC also has a place in the home environment, for measuring, for assessing relationships, for identifying career opportunities and role suitability.  DISC can also be effectively used in recruitment and development, management of change and conflict and identifying and managing talent.

What’s In it for the Individual & the Organisation?

DISC helps to define and benchmark productive team behaviours and goals.  It creates individuals and teams that are more self-aware and aware of others and the interactions between the two.  Information is power for the individual and DISC personality assessments give people the necessary information to focus on Individual & Team Strengths.  Behavioural Change means growth – personal growth for the individual and performance growth for the organisation.
